Hi all, New to Mac, I use 'Newsbin Pro' on the PC and wondered if there is a similar app for the mac?? Has anyone managed to run Chessbase Reader (the free chessbase file reading software) under Wine in Mac OS X or Linux? I'm having problems. The app crashes on the splash screen.
However, I have attempted to plug in a card reader so that I can read the cards from my digital cameras, but I cant get it to show up. Anyone any ideas how I get the device to show up,I have tried the 2 I have. If I connect the camera direct, it shows up and allows me to import the photos. Luckily, all the cameras I own use the same cards, so its far better to load the card into the reader rather than keep plugging in different cameras. Piv card reader for mac not recognized.

Windows on your Mac If you want to install the Windows operating system on your Mac computer you first have to decide whether you want to use the free Boot Camp utility that is part of macOS or whether you want to buy a virtualization software package — to most popular are Parallels Desktop or VMware Fusion. We had a look at the solutions currently available to compare their advantages and disadvantages. 1) Boot Camp Boot Camp is provided free by Apple and splits your hard drive into two partitions, allowing you to install the Windows operating system and Windows programs on the second partition. If you choose this solution you can run Windows on your Mac natively and the desktop looks just like as if you had a Windows computer. All Windows programs run on it. To switch between macOS and the Windows operating system a restart is necessary. 2) Virtual Windows The best-known programs in virtualization on Mac are Parallels and VMware Fusion, both of which, however, are not for free — you have to buy them.
